What a Difference a Relationship Makes

We are all familiar of the story of David and Goliath, mostly because David being the smaller weaker one overcame the more experienced larger opponent. Looking closer at the story and at a slightly different angle we can see this is a story of complete victory over sin. David being so full of love for the Lord had no room for doubt in his mind for doubt, fear, or temptation. David had a prior relationship with the Lord before the interaction with Goliath thus preparing him to be able to trust in God that he would take care of him. David representing a faithful christian while Goliath represents Satan shows how it is possible to overcome. 1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
